The computation of products of vectors in the plane produced by pairwise multiplication of the values of the coordinates of the vectors (a • b = ax x bx + ay x by).
For example, for 2-vectors with coordinates a = {5; 8} and b = {6; 9} scalar product equals 5 x 8 + 6 x 9 = 102.
